What's the difference between Monthly Subscription and Full Perpetual License?
You rent the software on a monthly basis with automatic renewal unless you cancel the subscription after the minimum subscription period*. Maintenance (Upgrade + Support) is included for the same period.
Full Perpetual License
You can use the software for life but beside the first 1 year Support that is included, if you want to keep the software up-to-date later you have to buy the Maintenance (that means Upgrade + Support) from January 1 to December 31, for a calendar year.
So which one should I choose?
If you have strong feelings about the fact that you want to own the software you should buy a Perpetual license. The first investment is higher than a Subscription but you can use the software as long as you wish. The drawback is that if you want to keep the software up-to-date and receive support after one year, you have to buy the Upgrade later.
Subscription is a monthly or annually rental fee replacing the upfront and Upgrade fees. If you think on a monthly budget the Monthly Subscription is a better choice because the first investment is smaller than the Perpetual License. You know exactly what you can expect in the future. You also do not need to worry for variable costs like support and new versions because they are all included in the Subscription. Subscription includes all updates, patches, and new versions as they occur.
Upgrade (Annual Maintenance Agreement):
The Annual Maintenance Agreement is Calendar Year non-cancellable Agreement.
-Upgrade: you'll receive a new product key for ARCHLine.XP 2017 (planned to be published in the first quarter of 2017).
-Access to online and e-mail support.
Hardlock protection: Program license is transferable from one computer to another. Hardlock protection price: 50GBP+VAT. You can choose the hardlock for Perpetual license only.
Software protection: Program license is activated with activation code on one computer. License transfer is disabled. License transfer to new computer requires valid removal code.
