The Magic of Hygge: Danish lifestyle within the walls of a home

Introduction

I am Enikő Horváth, an economist by profession with a specialization in marketing. Interior design has been a part of my life since childhood, but I always regarded it “just” as a hobby. After founding a private kindergarten and nursery, where I believed I could channel all my creativity, I still felt that something was missing from my life. Turning 40 brought the breakthrough that I wanted to pursue interior design alongside my current job.

I graduated in 2023, and since then, I’ve been working on two projects: a private residence and a showroom. Balancing this with my full-time job and family can be challenging, but it’s a commitment I made and wanted, and I am not someone who gives up on their dreams. I have since purchased the ARCHLine.XP software and use it daily. I strive to continuously improve myself, so I still take private lessons when needed. Currently, I am studying visualization design. My motto: “If you can dream it, you can do it!” – Walt Disney

Project documentation:

Project description:

Hygge – the Danish lifestyle that creates the perfect harmony of comfort, coziness, and intimacy. Every detail of this apartment, designed for a young couple, reflects this lifestyle, which not only pleases the eye but also helps forget the stress of everyday life.

The spacious living-dining-kitchen area is ideal for family gatherings, while the minimalist Danish design doesn’t neglect functionality. The carefully designed lighting features various fixtures, avoiding the disturbing effects of harsh lights.

Natural light and soft textures dominate every corner of the apartment. The guest room is suitable for regular use, while the children’s room is tailored to long-term needs. The kitchen’s unique feature is a floating-effect island that blends modern technology with aesthetics.

The true heart of the home, however, is the cozy atmosphere perfected by thoughtfully placed candles, blankets, and warm drinks. This is not just an apartment but a place where hygge truly comes to life.
