Introduction

My name is Zsófia Eke-Ranga. I graduated from the Junior Art Center Interior Design School in June 2025 with distinction and professional commendation. For me, spatial design is not merely an aesthetic task but also a way of expressing personal stories. I bring together my background in commerce and graphic design in my interior design work, where I strive to achieve a balance between functionality and aesthetics. I do not aim only to follow trends; I also consider it important to preserve personal needs and meaningful objects, as I believe a home becomes truly harmonious when the space reflects the values, rhythm, and mindset of the people who live in it. I followed this concept in my final project as well: I created a livable, practical, yet aesthetically pleasing home, incorporating solutions developed during the sample design assignments given throughout the course.

Graduation project summary:

Nature-Inspired Harmony in Szentendre

A young married couple and their ten-year-old daughter are starting a new chapter in Szentendre, on the banks of the Danube, exchanging their urban everyday life for a calm, nature-oriented home. During the transformation of the two-level apartment, functionality and the harmony of family life took center stage: the lower level houses the bedrooms and bathrooms, while the attic level became the shared living room, kitchen, and terrace — the true heart of the home. The use of natural materials such as wood, stone, and glass, along with curved veneered wall paneling, creates a modern yet welcoming atmosphere. Light oak, black steel elements, dark blue bathroom tiles, and playful details come together to form a timeless, practical, and friendly family nest, where shared moments and private spaces coexist in perfect balance.
